animation

At the end of last year i started working on an animation and had hope to have finished it by January... Ha ha i got stuck and left it for a few weeks, then went back to it, then got my hair cut like the main character.....but i still struggled putting in the time to animate. Main Character (initial sketches)
I was cleaning up my desk and i found some bracken and Honeysuckle i had been pressing for background elements. The honey suckle is a tad mouldy, but now i have some things to work with.

Will see how it goes in the next couple of weeks, of if the project will be shelf for another few months.

buttons

I found these buttons. Yes they are rather twee, but i will use them, perhaps on a neckwarmer... hmmm, time to get back into knitting.

felt bones, vinyl, cordoroy and faux pearls

I made a badge last night. It is my hybrid of a piece of Chanel costume jewellery and the Haighs chocolate logo.

A couple of chicken scratch doodles....

Hand stitched felt skull, a bow, a button, some pearls.

making felt

Currently: skirting, washing, carding raw fleece...Listening to Edvard Grieg
I have just started trying to make my own felt from Alpaca fleece (my sister has an alpaca farm)
The first batch i made was using black fleece and i had begun to make a damaged deer toy from it, but my dogs destroyed the toy and the majority of the reamaining black felt!
This is Goran, i managed to salvage him. As yet his leg stump wounds are not in place. I won't sell Goran because of his poor condition, however i have made more felt...

This is made from Seamus's first fleece, and will be used for a damaged deer toy.

Ugh, not a blog......

The Vibrant City blog is a place for documentation, development and dissertation of ideas, current projects and future plans.
Here you can see experimentation with materials and mediums, sketches (scribbles) drawn in feverish haste and how or if they develop.
This blog offers an insight to my methods and madness.
